Children's Autism Services in Norfolk - I am here to help

Meet Daphne Rowlands

I have worked with children with autism and their families for more than 15 years. All children are amazing unique individuals and deserve to be treated as such. Your child is no different.

Autism is not a clear cut set of symptoms or behaviours. I believe that we should work in a way that enables the child to be at their most receptive, rather than with fixed ideas and strategies. I use various therapies and resources suited to autism, being guided by you and your child’s needs.

I empower you to feel less isolated, to put you back in control of your life so you can be pro-active and live happily as a family.

I also explore your attitudes, thoughts and feelings and inspire you to see how amazing and unique your child is, rather than viewing their condition in a negative way. This often has a greater impact than you could ever imagine.
Daphne Rowlands
Peers and parents have described me as naturally positive, upbeat and understanding. I like to think I can help to teach and support you with my own brand of sensitivity, respect and calmness. And if needs be, I’m also a really good shoulder to cry on…

I have led special needs holiday play-schemes, worked and provided training in mainstream schools, specialist schools, nurseries, pre-schools, parents’ support groups and in the children’s own homes. I also work alongside other professionals at diagnostic clinics, specialised children’s team meetings, speech and language therapy, sensory therapy, and more. I am Enhanced DBS checked.

I live on the beautiful Norfolk Broads, and love being out in our gorgeous countryside and beaches. I am also a very keen cook and am dabbling with painting.

I look forward to working with you and your child.
